Museo Paper

What is Museo ?
It is an archival bright white fine art paper for making beautiful prints with MIS Archival and Quadtone Inks. What makes this paper unique is its smooth matte finish, called "Velina Finish". It produces exquisite inkjet prints. The paper comes in 4 sizes, 8 1/2 x 11, 11x17, 13x19 and 17x22.

How it is Made ?
Museo is made from 100% cotton, using naturally pH-neutral, Artesian well water. Many paper mills use river water, which often requires treatment with acidic alum to coagulate contaminants which is then removed by filtration. Pure well water requires no pre-treatment, like alum or other chemicals. Plus, well water is high in calcium which is a buffer and maintains pH neutrality in the paper every sheet. Crane's Museo is acid-free and is manufactured without the use of optical brighteners. Each sheet is subject to Crane's rigorous quality inspection.

How Does It Compare to Somerset Enhanced ?
Museo is in a class all by its own. It is very similar to Somerset Photo Enhanced paper. Our testing to date does not show any warm shifting when exposed to sunlight. It produces sharp detailed images, equal to or better than Somerset Enhanced. The surface does not have as much texture as the Somerset Enhanced, it is smoother. It is slightly brighter white than Somerset Enhanced. Feeding characteristics are about the same, price is a little less.
