The Inksupply.com Empty Spongeless Cartridges for the Epson 1400, C120, R260, R380, RX580 & R1900 are a truly spongeless cartridge. These cartridges are designed to
allow air to enter from the vent hole on the top of the cartridge and flow through a set of channels to the
ink chamber at the very bottom of the cart. This prevents the print head from seeing any pressure thus eliminating siphoning issues.

Cartridge Equipped with Auto Reset Chip!
The Inksupply.com Spongeless Cartridge for Epson 1400, C120, R260, R380, RX580 & R1900 printers
are equipped with an Auto Reset Chip that will only reset under the following two conditions.
Turn printer off then on when ink monitor indicates that the ink level is below 10%, and printer indicates that the cartridge is low (red light).
Press ink exchange button (ink drop) when ink monitor indicates that the ink level is below 10%, and printer indicates that the cartridge is low (red light).
If the cartridge is refilled, but the ink monitor does not indicate that the cartridge is low, you will be unable to reset the chip until the
ink monitor indicates that the cartridge is low. For this reason it is best to refill the cartridges only when the cartridge is shown as low.
Many users find it more convenient to have two sets of cartridges to precipitate a quick change over when a cartridge is reported empty.

Refill Procedure
- Remove the safety cap from the end of syringe and connect a 1 1/2 " long needle. The syringe uses a twist lock connection. Load the
syringe with 12 ml of ink. Make sure it is the right color or shade for the cartridge you are working on.
- There is a hole in the top of the cartridge for refilling (Fill Plug in photo). Carefully remove the Fill Plug and
add ink, using the syringe, until the reservoir is almost full. It should take 12 to 13 ml of ink. Leave about 1/8 inch
of air at the top of the cartridge.
- Next, remove the needle from the end of syringe and attach the Bottom Fill Adapter (MIS-BADP). Draw out 1 cc of ink from
the exit port to remove any trapped air. If you wet the Bottom Fill Adapter it will go into the Exit Port seal easier. If
the cartridge is brand new, you can pre-puncture the clear film over the exit port seal if you wish, but do not remove
this clear material. It holds the exit port seal in place.
- When you draw ink out, make sure the Fill Plug in the reservoir is not installed yet. If the Vent Plug has been removed
from the top reinstall it to prevent air from being pulled into the cartridge through the vent. Do not
cover the fill hole.
- Once primed, insert the Bottom Fill Adapter into the exit port seal, and draw out 1 cc of ink. This will pull ink from the
cartridge. The cartridge is now primed. Be careful not to spill any ink out of the open fill hole.
- Install the Fill Plug in the top of the cartridge. It must seal absolutely AIR TIGHT. If plug is damaged, get
a new one. Be sure to remove the Vent Plug from the vent hole. The vent hole on top of the cartridge must be open or the cartridge will not work.
|
CAUTION! Damage to the printer may occur if you install a cartridge without a chip in your printer. Check
each cartridge to ensure that the chip is properly installed and has not become loose before installing the cartridge
in your printer. If the chip has fallen off or become loose, use some Dap
Fun-Tak or other re useable adhesive to reattach the chip.
(purchase from accessory page).
