7800/9800 Funnel Fill Installation and Filling Instructions
| |
|
1. After ink is first placed in the cartridge, cartridges should always be handled in the same orientation as when they are
installed in the printer.
2. Take out the rubber plug in the direction of the arrow molded in the plug exposing the filling hole and breather hole. Caution
not to damage the plug. Do not remove plug while printer is in operation or powered on.
3. Fill ink into the filling hole (closest to the middle of the cartridge, smaller hole),

|
| |
|
choose relevant color ink and slowly inject ink into cartridge until ink level is parallel with the "upper ink line" marked in
plastic on back edge of the cartridge. Once filled re-seal the filling hole and breather hole with rubber plug.

4. Insert the filled cartridges into the relevant positions of the printer according to the color sequence.
5. At last, start "POWER CLEANING" operation of the printer. Specified steps as follows: Menu >> MAINTENANCE >> POWER CLEANING.
It takes about 10 minutes in this process. After "POWER CLEANING", please open the printer cover and check if there is air in
any of the ink lines. If not, printer can resume normal operations; if there is air in the line, please wait 5 minutes and then
start "POWER CLEANING" operation again following the steps above.
6. It is recommended that the cartridge poppet valve be primed with a syringe after filling and before first use.

|
| |
| |
|
It is not always necessary, but if ink did not fill this area, it is recommended that ink be injected with a syringe
(syringe sold separately) into the cartridge to prime the poppet supply pipe.

ATTENTION:
Be certain the printer is powered off before refilling if there is a need to refill ink cartridge(s) in the printer.
When taking rubber plug out of filling hole and breather hole, please squeeze the handle of rubber plug and take it
off according to the direction of the arrow molded into plug.
Be sure to refill the ink before the ink level in the cartridges lowers to the "bottom ink line" marked in the plastic
on the end of the cartridge so as to avoid air coming into pipe and causing bad print results.
Refilling ink should not over pass the "upper ink line" marked in the cartridge.
If there is a need to refill ink and reset chip simultaneously, please refill ink first and then reset chip.
When printer indicates the ink is used up and chip should be reset, please take out cartridges from printer horizontally.
Meanwhile, make sure the cartridges are not placed vertically or upside-down in daily use or during resetting procedure. For
more details, please refer to the pictures. Proper use of this cartridge involves not allowing ink to reach the vacuum area.
After ink is first placed in the cartridge, cartridges should always be handled in the same orientation as when they are
installed in the printer. This includes for reset procedures and at all other times.
Chip Re-setter (sold separately) can be used to reset the chips on cartridges and waste ink chamber.
Resetting the ink levels requires the use of an MIS SK188 Chip Resetter. This requires removing
the cartridge from the printer and re-installing. This repeated "in and out" can limit the life of the cartridge.
