Too good to be true
These carts are new for the 7800 and 9800 and they work like a charm. Other types availible for Epson 3000, 4000, 7000, 7500, 7600, 7800, 9600 and 9800 these cartridges are another option for people who want to easily refill their wide format cartridges from bulk ink bottles. No more syringes, needles, or chips to reset. Simply remove the plug, insert your funnel or squeeze bottle, and fill.

These cartridges use a clear ink reservoir rather than a foil bag which eliminates the issue of ink foam when refilling. The ink reservoir also lets you visually see just how much ink you have remaining in each cartridge. All you have to do is remove the rubber plug on the top of the cart, using the funnel provided, pour ink into the cartridge, put the rubber plug back in place, and you are ready to go. No more fighting with foam or air bubbles trying to get a good nozzle pattern. These carts will print perfect every time and can be refilled over and over again. Just what you always wanted.

How it works
The position of the channel that extends down to the bottom of the cart from the septum and the slanted base of the cartridge are the secret to this cartridges success. By slanting the base of the chamber, and pulling ink from the bottom of the cartridge and bringing fresh air from the top this system is able to use all of the ink in the reservoir without generating foam or failing to feed until it is empty. The chip on the 4000/7600/9600 type carts never needs to be reset. Cartridges never have to be removed from the printer. Optional Goose-Neck fill bottle available.

4000, 7600, 9600 Ink Monitoring
The clear funnel fill cartridges can be filled and inserted into the printer, and they never have to be removed. On the 4000, 7600, 9600 this is accomplished by disabling the Epson ink monitoring system via the front panel controls on the printer. On the non-chipped printers, the monitoring system will report that the ink is low, but it will not prevent or interrupt the printing.

Follow these instructions to install the cartridge and to disable or enable the ink monitoring system

The alternate to using this procedure is to use an MIS SK188 Chip Resetter. However, this requires removing the cartridge from the printer and re-installing. This repeated "in and out" can limit the life of the cartridge.

3000, 7000, 7500 Carts -
These Funnel Fill carts are also clear, but they do not have chips on them. Remove the orange fill plug on the top of the cartridge to fill with ink. Insert either the funnel or the spout on the Goose-Neck fill bottle, and fill cart with ink. Go slow at first and tilt cart so air is not trapped at the other end (septum end). Don't fill above the vent hole. The vent hole is on the end of the cart near the orange plug. Do not cover or block this small vent hole.

There is no mechanical tab to signal the printer that the cartridge is empty. So the printer will not stop printing, but the monitoring system will warn you it is empty. DO NOT LET THE CARTRIDGE RUN OUT OF INK.

One pint of MIS 7600 Ultrachrome Equivalent ink contains two times the ink (450 ml) in an Epson OEM 9600 220ml cartridge, at half the cost. The MIS ink is $50 and the Epson cartridge is $112. Two refills for $50 vs two carts for $224, you save $174 for each MIS pint consumed.

Resetting -
The MIS FunnelFill Cartridge for the 4800/4880 printer now has an Auto Reset chip.   No chip resetter required.  Resetting of the Epson monitoring system is accomplished by lifting the ink lever,  after the ink level signal falls below 5% full.    . . . . . .
