MIS Spongeless 2400 Cartridge
Play Video Instruction
|
| |
|
If you purchased our new spongeless cartridge without a chip, then follow these instructions for installing the chip.
We have spare chips for sale if you need one. They are $1.95 each.
|
| |
| 1. |
The only tool required for installing the chip is a single sided razor blade. Make sure you have some Fun-Tak (reuseable adhesive)
handy. It should be in the package you received your cartridges came in. If you don't have any, it can be purchased on
our Accessories page.
Cut a strip of Fun-Tak apporximately 1/2" long by 3/16" wide. Roll it into a ball between your thumb and forefinger.
The ball should be about 1/4" in diameter. Bigger than a BB, smaller than a pea.
|
| |
| 2. |
Press the ball of Fun-Tak onto the back of the chip (opposite side from the gold contacts). On the back of the chip
is a black bump of material. Press the Fun-Tak onto this bump, and press down gently. Don't flatten the ball.
|
| |
| 3. |
Place the chip on the cartridge, so the U groove is down, and the ball of Fun-Tak goes into the cavity. Press the
chip down so the posts on the cartridge come thru the holes on the chip. Press it firmly down on the cartridge, and
remove any excess Fun-Tak from the edges if it squeezes out.
|
| |
| 4. |
Use a single sided razor blade and carefully remove the small piece of plastic post, FROM THE BOTTOM ONLY, that
sticks up above the chip. This small piece of the post can interfere with the printer making contact with the chip.
Do not scratch or damage the gold pads on the chip.
|
| |
| 5. |
The chip should now be securley attached to the cartridge and it should be flat, no angle top to bottom or side to side.
You can tap the cartridge on your desk top or bench top, to make sure it will stay in place. Wipe it clean with a damp
paper towel or cloth.
That's it, ready to go.
If you get a red light on your printer, it most likely means that you have installed the wrong color
chip on the cartridge.
