4000 Ink Change Procedure

By using these instructions, you can avoid having to flush your printer with cleaning fluid. This
only applies if you are changing from original Epson inks to MIS inks.

Caution: Make sure your waste pad is not full or almost full before starting this procedure.
The changeover consumes approx. 1/4-1/3 of the waste tank and 1/4-1/3 of
a 110 ml cart. So, make sure your carts. are full and there is plenty of
room in the waste tank.

With the power off, install the cartridges. Hold down the buttons (circled) and turn on
the Power. (See figure 1)

Once you have done this, you will see the words; Self Testing on the display with
an arrow pointing right. Press the circled button once.(see Figure 2)

When the display reads.. Self Testing with Test and an arrow pointing to right,
press the Down button until the display reads Self Testing with Cleaning below.
(see Figure 3 & 4)

Now the display should read, Self Testing with Cleaning and an arrow pointing to
the right, press the circled button once. (see Figure 4)

The display will now read, Cleaning with Std.KK0. Press the Down button (circled)
until the display reads... Cleaning with Init. Fill. (see Figure 5 & 6)

The display will now read, Cleaning with Init. Fill. (see Figure 6)

Once the display reads, Cleaning with Init. Fill. Pressing the circled button
will initiate the charging of MIS inks into your printer. (see Figure 6)
Please note that you only need to do this once and in doing so, a portion of your Waste Ink
Tank is used.
This will take approximately 5 to 10 minutes. Once it is finished, please reboot the printer.
